Madeline Soto was a 13-year-old girl from Florida, whose disappearance in February 2024 sparked a desperate search and quickly became a case filled with disturbing questions. On February 26, Madeline was reported missing after she failed to show up at school. Her family initially believed she had been dropped off that morning, but investigators soon began piecing together a very different timeline. As detectives retraced Madeline’s final days, attention turned toward her mother’s boyfriend, Stephan Sterns, who had been living with the family. What began as a missing-child investigation soon became a homicide investigation. Investigators uncovered surveillance footage, digital evidence, and other discoveries that raised troubling questions about what happened to Madeline inside the home—and what happened during the hours after she disappeared. As the investigation unfolded, Sterns was arrested and charged in connection with Madeline’s death. The case would reveal a heartbreaking story of a young girl whose final days were surrounded by secrets, unanswered questions, and people who should have been protecting her.
