On Halloween 2012, 24-year-old Rebekah Gay, a young mother from Michigan, was brutally murdered in her own home while her three-year-old son was nearby. The man responsible was John White, a former pastor who was engaged to Rebekah’s mother and had been someone the family trusted. After killing Rebekah, White disposed of her body and returned to help get her young son ready for Halloween, as though nothing had happened. As investigators uncovered the horrifying truth, they also discovered a disturbing history of violence that raised questions about how someone with White’s past had been able to move forward with his life.
